Last night the FPG steering group met to review progress to date, clarify current activities and look into the future to ensure we have a coherant plan going forward. We want to ensure we engage with residents of our community on an ongoing basis and welcome feedback at all stages of this journey. Please feel free to email us at any time at farnsfieldpreservationgroup@gmail.com
What’s Been Done to Date
FPG has been established as a local residents’ group to gather information, represent community views and keep residents informed. A Facebook page and website are now in place. We have submitted Freedom of Information requests (FOI's) covering local schools, health service capacity, water infrastructure and housing needs. We have also requested further information from NCC regarding traffic.
FPG has held residents’ meetings and presented to the Parish Council. We have also met with the developer & councillors to better understand the proposals and the planning process.
Work in Progress
We are preparing a clear, concise and balanced leaflet for residents, with volunteers being organised to help distribute it. We are also arranging the next public residents meeting, provisionally targeted for 7 October 2026.
Further information is being gathered on the proposed development, including the anticipated planning process and infrastructure implications.
Looking Ahead
FPG will continue to share information with residents and provide regular updates to the Parish Council. We are exploring funding options, including possible grants to help offset some of the anticipated costs of professional planning advice, leaflet production and website hosting. .
