Wain Estates confirmed today that they expect to submit an outline planning application within the next two weeks, likely in early October. This was confirmed during a meeting with representatives of the Parish Council, County Council and local residents.
Wain discussed the Government's increased housing requirements and raised the question of potential community benefits associated with the proposed development.
Residents made clear that before discussing additional amenities or community benefits, the priority must be to establish the justification for approximately 140 additional homes on this particular site and whether Farnsfield's existing infrastructure can sustainably accommodate development on this scale.
Particular concerns include highways and traffic, drainage and sewerage capacity, flooding, schools, healthcare and the cumulative impact of further development on the village.
Once the outline application and supporting technical evidence are published, these will be examined carefully and residents will have the opportunity to respond through the formal planning consultation.
